The following procedure was co-developed by the Auto/Steel Partnership (A/SP) and the Ohio State University (OSU) to quantitatively assess liquid metal embrittlement (LME) susceptibility of coated sheet steels. The procedure was instrumental in demonstrating
variable LME susceptibility for advanced high strength steels (AHSS) and third generation advanced high strength steels (3GHASS) across a range of tensile strengths.
